We circle around Peter (ST. Petersburg) – how big it is! With presents and a camera. We means Yan Volkov, the author of the Christmas Angel Tree project and director of the prison ministry of ACCR, his little daughter Lana – she loves to give presents to children, Yan's helper Anna Arak, the cameraman (he's always on the wheel) Boris Krilov, and my Larisa and me, Valentine Kazerski.

It happens only in the blockbuster when good and evil sometimes test their strengths on the roof of Moscow skyscraper performed by characters of Dnevnoi and Nochnoi Dozor (Day and Night Patrol). In reality, as Dostoevsky wrote, good and evil fight constantly and their battle field is a human soul. Soul of everyone and always….. Eradication of evil of universe is a complicated task to fulfill, but to heal a human soul brining good to people around is possible to perform to every person.

Miracle before Christmas - The Christmas Angel Tree - 2008 “The Christmas Angel Tree has been bringing joy, hope and salvation to people for many years”. It is a charitable Christian action – to congratulate children of inmates with Christmas on behalf of their parents due to their wishes. Volunteers donate money, buy presents and deliver them to children with news from their parents to other cities, regions, countries…and sometimes volunteers even search for children who live in orphanages. Why do people do eagerly such a work full of trouble?

We try to reveal love and compassion of Jesus Christ through the project. Many of inmates and their families do not get used to evidences of kindness from other people. Former inmates after their imprisonment are rejected very often by their families and society.
